Fish Nest ("we", "the platform", fishnest.in) is an online listing platform that connects ornamental fish farmers and sellers ("farmers") with buyers ("customers") across India. Fish Nest lists products and helps buyers and farmers connect. Fish Nest does not sell the products itself and does not handle or process any payment between buyer and farmer.
When a customer places an order, the order details are sent to the farmer (via WhatsApp). Payment is made directly by the customer to the farmer, typically by UPI. Fish Nest is not a party to that payment, does not collect it, and does not hold any customer money. Any agreement to buy and sell is strictly between the customer and the farmer.
Fish Nest earns income from listing fees (rent) charged to farmers, a per-order platform fee from customers, and advertising. These are charges to farmers and customers for using the platform; they are not a markup on, or commission held from, the customer's payment.
Farmers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the quality, health and legality of what they sell, packaging, dispatch, and honouring orders they accept. Farmers must comply with all applicable laws, including any restrictions on the species they list.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details, paying the farmer directly as agreed, and complying with local laws regarding keeping the species they buy.
Because payment is made directly from the customer to the farmer, any refund is also made directly by the farmer to the customer. Fish Nest does not hold customer money and therefore cannot issue refunds on a farmer's behalf.
Out of stock after payment: If a customer has paid for a product and the farmer then finds that the product is out of stock (or is otherwise unable to fulfil the order), the farmer is responsible for refunding the full amount actually paid by the customer to the customer, without deduction, promptly and using the same payment method where possible. This applies whenever an order cannot be fulfilled for reasons attributable to the farmer, including unavailability of stock.
Fish Nest may assist by sharing contact details and, where a platform fee or listing rent was charged in connection with an order that is refunded for being out of stock, may at its discretion reverse or waive that charge to the farmer. Fish Nest is not itself liable to make any refund of the amount paid by the customer to the farmer.
Many products are live aquatic animals. Fish Nest does not breed, handle, ship, or inspect any animal and gives no guarantee as to the health, species, size, or live arrival of any animal. Any concern about a live animal is a matter between the customer and the farmer.
Listing or buying species banned or restricted under Indian law is strictly prohibited. Fish Nest may remove any listing and suspend any account at its discretion.
Because Fish Nest only lists products and connects people and is not a party to any sale or payment, Fish Nest is not liable for the quality, delivery, payment, loss, or any dispute arising from a transaction between a customer and a farmer. The platform is provided "as is".
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. We may suspend accounts that misuse the platform, post false listings, or break these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform means you accept the current terms.
